The Citizen Media Group is an innovative, nonprofit news and education organization dedicated to helping you become an informed and effective citizen.

We are a consortium of professional journalists based in Albuquerque, New Mexico, that is breaking down the barriers between the press and the people.

Executive Director Diane Velasco has been a journalist in New Mexico since 1996. She has focused primarily on business reporting, winning awards for her work. She is experienced in both print and radio news writing. Diane holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism and mass communication from the University of New Mexico and an associate’s degree in business management from Morton College in Illinois.
